P4P Day Three

Day three has been great so far… Started with a five mile climbing section and then an eight mile descent! Man that was fun! Some nice rollers to bring us to lunch in Whitney Point, NY at mile 69 on a 127 mile day but not before we stopped at the Binghamton Humane Society where we saw some great cats and dogs waiting for their forever homes!

Closing out day one…

Today was a really great day one. All promises of a fantastic time with good friends were delivered. Many of us achieved our day one goals and everyone rode very strong! Thanks to the great organizers of this ride for making it possible for us all to enjoy! Goodnight… 🙂

P4P Day One

A great beginning of day one so far… Everyone is riding strong and together as a nice group. We did get a little wet but we are almost dry now! We received a warm welcome at the Berks County SPCA and are back on the road again. Next stop = lunch!!

Weather forecast for the Ride

Last week’s forecast along the route was calling for on and off rain, the latest model calls for a 30% risk of thunderstorm on Tuesday in the West Chester area and a 30% chance of shower in Jim Thorpe on Wednesday morning; the rest of the week is dry and in the mid 70s. A nice contrast with the high 90s and very humid days from last year! We roll promptly at 8:00 tomorrow Tuesday June 18, please join us at the West Chester Borough office located at 401 E Gay St for the 2013 send-off!

Final training ride for 2013

What a glorious day to celebrate the final training ride before we embark onnour 500 miles in 5 days journey! Other than Shana’s mechanical that took her out of the ride, all went well and Shana’s bike will ready for Tuesday’s departure. We will be blogging on a daily basis and how you have as much fun following us as we do on our bikes! Cheers!

3 Nights to Go!

Just three nights to the 2013 Pedaling4Paws Ride. We have already had a very successful raffle in West Chester for the Chester County SPCA and and moving aggressively closer to the Skaneateles, NY based drawing for the Finger Lakes SPCA, so those who want tickets for that raffle had better get to one of the purchase locations this coming week!
We have numerous media appointments and many miles to ride but as always we still need support from the many P4P followers. Whether you choose to donate, to adopt, to ride or all and more, please let the shelters you help know it was Pedaling4Paws that made you do it and thank you very, very much for the support! Please leave comments on our blogs anytime you do anything related to P4P or if you like things we do. We greatly appreciate hearing and seeing that support too!!

P4P Training Ride #9

Another solid ride designed by Gary Bianchini, front loaded with robust hills in the first 44 miles and a nice descending faux plat for most of the next 26 miles taking us back home! 20 riders joined the group and there were lots of big smiles at the end! P4P Cyclists Ride for Charity

Some P4P aficionados (Bob Morris and Charles St. Maurice) and a newbie (Me-Cristy) and Dave Rainey (reentering the WCCC club after a short hiatus) and a nice young kid we picked up (Dan) to pull us up those crazy hills; rode today in the Cinco De Mayo Charity Bike Ride in the Kimberton area in support of adaptive cycling for handicapped people wanting to enter the great world of cycling. A great day for a great ride… 50 miles and 5000 feet of climbing or thereabouts… Enjoy these pictures from today…

Oh my! What an absolutely gorgeous day for training ride #7 for the P4P cyclists! We could not have asked for more gorgeous weather and a more fun ride! 69 miles, about 5K of climbing and the fun quotient was exceptionally high… Enjoy viewing these pictures from today’s ride! Thanks everyone!!

What a dream day for a 70 miles ride; temperature in the high 60s, light wind for a change, blue sky and a great group of 18 avid cyclists; needless to say that endorphins were flowing after a visit to beautiful Lancaster County and back! The group rode very well and is gelling very nicely after these excellent rides! See you all next week for #7!/Charles St-Maurice
